Meme: In My Mailbox (2) & Stacking the Shelves (1)

In My Mailbox (IMM) is a weekly meme from The Story Siren and  Stacking the Shelves (StS) in a weekly meme from Tynga’s Reviews where you can share bookish things you’ve acquired recently.

So after my last IMM, I purposefully didn’t request any new books. I really want to be conscientious of how many books I have with the expectation of reviewing so I can fulfill that promise of actually reviewing them. I want to be realistic concerning my own reading speed and time obligations. For instance, this week was my birthday! I had a great birthday and could be dealing with the post-birthday blues, which just means more of a reason to bury my nose in a book. I have a few more books I’ve received.

For Review

Gameboard of the Gods by Richelle Mead (from Netgalley)

London Falling by Paul Cornell (from Netgalley)

The Queen’s Pawn by R.J. Hore (for Book Tour)

For the Virginia Wine and Book Club:

    • Really?! I am really new to netgalley and on one day just sort of went through and requested a ton. Of course now I know better and won’t visit it to avoid the temptation until I catch up. 🙂

  1. It looks like you’ve got some great books. I’m curious about Gameboard of the Gods, though I have to admit I don’t know a lot about it. Hope you enjoy reading them all, and thanks for stopping by my blog.

    • Yeah, I have never read Richelle Mead before but everyone raves about her. So I’m definitely curious…

    • I haven’t yet explored Edelweiss. I’ve heard about it but I haven’t gotten around to looking at it. Do you like it?

  2. I’ve never read any Richelle Mead’s books, and whenever I see someone picked up one of her books I feel guilty about it. I really need to look into her stuff, because I’ve heard great things.

Anyway, enjoy your goodies and happy reading 🙂

    • Me neither! There’s actually so many authors that people rave about that I haven’t gotten to yet, and quite honestly, I’m not sure if I’ll ever get to. I try not to worry too much about it, but it is like not being part of an inside joke. 🙂

  3. Gameboard of the Gods does sound interesting, and I’ve seen Sophie’s Choice receive some good ratings and reviews — I hope you enjoy them with the rest of your books!

    • Thank you! Yeah, Sophie’s Choice should be interesting. I love reading books for a book club for the real discussion that gets to take place. Thanks for stopping by!

    • Funny thing is, I hadn’t heard of it until I requested and received it. I’m looking forward to exploring both the book and Richelle Mead!

  4. Oh Gameboard of the Gods looks so good to me! Lucky you. Happy Belated Birthday and Thanks for stopping by Book Swoon, it was really nice of you to comment on my blogs layout. Thanks! (:
